Another round of buttons designs!
Having a really hard time figuring out the Angel Blade button (seriously, it shouldn’t be this hard) so I started going through some old sketch books to see if that would spark anything. Found this sketch instead. At the time, I thought it would be hilarious to make a physical Castiel tree topper doll with blue button eyeballs.
The winner of my first ever giveaway is : @its-sexier-in-enochian! (I’ve sent off a message, please check your inbox.)
I plan to have more giveaways sometime in the future. If you can’t wait, you can get the above 12, plus my 2 new spn ones, up on my Etsy shop.
Thank you so much with your support on the start of this project! It means so much to me and fuels my excitement to get some of my new ideas out there.
My contest ends tonight! If you are reading this and want to participate, click on over this way.
These are the two newest button designs up in my shop! While they are Supernatural related, I just wanted to note that the Mythical Merits project is not specific to one show or fandom. I saw tags on my post for Night Vale and Lumberjanes and that is exactly what I want this project to be about. I already have a Buffy the Vampire Slayer button idea lined up!
If you have an idea you’d like to see on a button, please email me (kate [at] ignitethesky [dot] com)! You can send a Tumblr ask if you prefer, but those sometimes miss inboxes.
I’m really excited to announce Mythical Merits! These are 1” pinback buttons made to look like the patch-style merit badges, achieved by completing certain tasks. Only these merit badges feature supernatural critters! Have you tackled a Vampire? Or researched the ways to kill a Demon? Show off all your hunting and research accomplishments with a badge!
If you’d like to get a merit badge pin of your own, I just started an Etsy store. There are currently 12 designs with more on the way! (I’ve got some sketches of weapons Dean Winchester may like…)
The current designs are:
I’ve been working really hard on this project
and I want to celebrate by giving away an entire set of 12 badge pins! If you’d like to enter, each reblog and like counts as one entry (you may re-blog more than once, but not more than 3 times a day). I’ll ship anywhere in the world! Throwaway/Giveaway tumblrs are not eligible to enter. Please make sure to have your ask box open so I can contact you if selected. If I don’t hear back from the winner within 3 days, a new winner will be selected. Contest will end on Monday, June 9th at 11:59pm Pacific time.
Contest has ended!
This is my family. I found it. All on my own. It’s little… and broken, but still good. Yep, still good.
Lilo and Stitch is one of my favorite animated movies, so for DeanCasWeek I jumped at drawing this. The parallels between Stitch and Castiel as aliens finding their own little family unit on Earth was too good to pass up. Plus, imagine Dean trying to get a grumpy Castiel to listen to Zeppelin and not eat all his pie.
Posts on this blog have been pretty spotty for the last, eh, year or so. That’s because there’s been a large shift in my life from retail/office jobs to my new position with Unicorn Empire! Woo! Unicorn Empire, started by Amber, created all the lovely things you see above. Many more fandom items can be found on her official website and her Etsy shop. I joined to help with the production end of things, but have also been working on photography/photo editing for the stores and even a little bit of modeling. (You can tell by my arms, I don’t know what I’m doing.)
Once I’m done moving and the holiday season is over, the goal is to get back into drawing every day. So, thank you for sticking around. If you have any prompts, please share!
I don’t know if this will count because it’s unfinished, but I’ve run out of time (even with the extended deadline) and I just really wanted to participate. This is for the LetsDrawSPN project where everyone draws the given reference photo in their own way. I was trying to do it in this style.
My super secret children’s book illustration project is almost complete! Which means time for more stuff! (Probably of Castiel’s face.)
After seeing a bunch of shrink plastic charms on my dash from artists like -Wondersmith and Captaingalaga, I went and got some of my own to try out. I’ve spent all day messing with it, just pulling from pre-done art for experimentation. I can’t wait to try some more.
